Feed the Hungry |
During the coming fall and winter months, and with the rising cost of utilities, the need for people using the Food Pantry will dramatically increase. We are currently serving 600 families monthly and that is a credit to Sacred Hearts Parish. If you have never brought food before, this would be a great time to help us serve the poor in our great city. Please help us to bring Jesus to these unfortunate people.
May the blessings of Christ be with you.

Living Out Your Label (Made by God) |
The other weekend, I spoke to you on living out your label and the possibility of doing so by being a Catechist for our parish Religious Education program. This year we have a great need for Catechists for the following grades: Wednesday night grade 5 and 6, Monday night grades 7 and 8 as well as Sunday night grade 9.
If we are unable to fill these very necessary positions, the Religious Education program will have to be suspended until enough volunteers come forward. The youth of our parish are a dynamic group that are eager to learn about their faith and we have a commitment to them as brothers and sisters in Christ to make ourselves available to them.
Please spend some time in prayer today to see if you are being called to be a Catechist. Please do not let 'inexperience' keep you from coming forward (Beth and I will supply you with Catechist manuals that break down each lesson to allow you to present an informative class as well as any additional help that you would like). A great way to 'break' into being a Catechist is to team teach with a friend! This is a great way to ease into the classroom setting without feeling that you are on your own. Our 7th, 8th and 9th grade format is a new design this year that will allow you to be either in front of the group or at a table for small group discussions.
Blessings - Bridget Lacefield, Director of Religious Education
