Lectors proclaim the Word of God during Mass. Typically, we assign two lectors to each Mass, one to do the welcome and the first reading, and another to do the second reading, Prayers of the Faithful, and announcements. One lector typically also rings the bells during the Consecration. Lectors should be articulate, know how to speak slowly, and know how to read in a manner that reflects the significance of what we are reading: God’s Word to us! Lectors are typically asked to make a 1-2 times per month commitment. If you are interested in being trained as a lector, please contact Dr. Elizabeth Woodard, pastoral associate.

If you are interested in learning more about our lector, greeter, Eucharistic minister, or altar server ministry, learn more! All of these ministries use MSP (Ministry Scheduler Pro), also known as Rotunda software, for our scheduling needs.
Once you create a user name and account, you will utilize either the MSP website or the MSP mobile app to express your availability, request a sub, and to find out when you are rostered.
If you are new MSP and need a link to sign up, or if you have misplaced your username/password and would like them sent to you, please contact Dr. Elizabeth Woodard, pastoral associate.
Once you are logged in, you can click on the Help tab at the top of the screen to see a short video and printable guide that will explain step-by-step how to update your information.

Our greeter ministry helps create a welcoming atmosphere for regular parishioners and visitors alike. Greeters arrive for Mass approximately 30 minutes early and welcome people as they arrive. Greeters also distribute bulletins as people leave, and help facilitate the collection during Mass. Greeters should be friendly, personable, and enjoy talking to people. Greeters are typically scheduled to 1-2 Masses per month, but can be scheduled more frequently if desired.
We also seek greeters to be a part of a subset of the greeter ministry that greets at funerals during the week or at baptisms on Sunday afternoon.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion distribute the Eucharist to the faithful. Eucharistic Ministers (EM)s can serve at Mass, and they can also volunteer to be a part of our Eucharistic homebound ministry, a group of people who visit the homebound and bring the Eucharist to them. The Sacred Hearts altar server ministry provides parishioners of various ages the opportunity to serve the Lord during the celebration of the Eucharist. Altar servers serve weekly Sunday Mass, weekday Masses, funerals, and weddings. The ministry consists of students in the 4th grade and older as well as adults. A two or three-session training class is conducted periodically during the year so that all altar servers will have the necessary understanding to perform their duties.
